For her post-graduate fellowship, she worked for the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland pushing the issue of the sale of children in the United States.

After returning to the U.S., she moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked as the Legal Director for Mil Mujeres Legal Services, a non-profit organization which provides immigration legal services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. She then moved on to a managerial position with a law firm in the D.C. area, Johnson Immigration Law, PC. As managing attorney, she handled almost every type of immigration case.

Anna relocated to her hometown, Dallas, Texas where she has opened up Porter Legal Group to serve the immigrant community in Texas. Porter Legal Group has since helped serve over 1,000 clients and expanded its practice areas into business immigration, divorce and child custody and criminal defense.

Anna is fluent in Spanish, French and Italian and uses her language skills every, single day with her clients. She is planning to learn Chinese next! In her free time, she enjoys quality time with family, travel, dancing and spending time with Randy and their 6 rescue pets!

Chris Roach was born and raised in Dallas. He went to St. Mark’s School of Texas for twelve years and decided to attend the University of Alabama for college. You could say Nick Saban was, and still is, Alabama’s biggest ambassador. After four years of studying political science and attending as many football games as possible, Chris achieved his life-long goal of being accepted into law school at Texas Tech University.

The attorney blood runs thick in Chris’ family. His grandfather, Jack, began practicing Oil and Gas law in Dallas during the boom of the 50’s. He practiced in Dallas for over 60 years. His father, Kelly, recently took over the firm after practicing with his Dad for over 25 years. While following along the family path, Chris found something that caused him to deviate, criminal law. Chris was given an incredible opportunity to work at Hurley, Guinn, & Singh during law school. Daniel Hurley showed Chris what it meant to be a great criminal defense lawyer and he quickly took to it and found his passion.

From then on, all focus was shifted to getting as much criminal defense experience as possible so that he would be able to follow his passion beyond law school. He participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic during his third year of law school, which further reinforced to him that he had chosen the right path.
